Jaipur – The pink city of India holds the title of being the first planned city of India. Renowned globally for splendid fortresses, majestic places, tranquil temples and beautiful Havelis.


Jaipur is one of the biggest and most famous tourist places in India. The bustling modern city is one of the three corners of the golden triangle that includes Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.


The best places to visit in Jaipur would be.


1. The Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh Fort, Jaipur is the perfect showcase of the royal heritage of Rajasthan. This beautiful and huge architecture stands on the edge of the Aravalli Hills, overlooking the pink city of Jaipur.

The Nahargarh Fort’s history says that it was in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, founder of Jaipur as a retreat place.

2. Hawa Mahal or Wind Palace

The Hawa Mahal or the ‘Palace of the Winds’ is one of the most renowned and distinctive landmarks in the Jaipur city of Rajasthan. The Hawa Mahal was built in 1799 by King Sawai Pratap Singh to enable ladies of the royal household to watch and enjoy the life and processions of the city. It is the one of the top places to visit in Jaipur.

3. Jantar Mantar

The Jantar Mantar in Jaipur is an astronomical observation site built in the early 18th century. The Jantar Mantar is the largest of the five such magnificent observatories built in India. It was built by Maharaj Jai Singh II in the 1720s who himself was a great scholar in Astronomy.

It was used to measure the distances and positions of celestial objects. The Jantar Mantar of Jaipur houses the world’s largest sundial called the ‘Samrat Yantra’.

4. Jaipur City Palace

The City Palace Jaipur is a splendid example of the foresight that Maharaja Jai Singh II had. The Jaipur City Palace is a beautiful blend of Mughal and Rajput styles of architecture. Located in the heart of Jaipur, The City Palace was where the Maharaja reigned from.

The City Palace complex houses the famous Mubarak Mahal, the place of reception and the Chandra Mahal. The Chandra Mahal is a seven storied tower. It one of the best places to visit in Jaipur city.

5. The Fort Of Amber

Amber Fort is one of the most important tourist destination in Jaipur. This fort is also called as the Amer Palace or the Amer Fort. The Amber Fort and Palace was built from yellow and pink sandstone and white marble and is divided into four major sections, each having its own courtyard.

The Amer Fort is about 6 centuries old and was built as a strong, safe haven against the attacking enemies. The paintings, interiors, carvings, precious stones and mirrors make this palace more stunning and magnificent.

6. The Jaigarh Fort

The magnificent fort of Jaigarh in city of Jaipur is one of the royal constructions of Jaipur that certainly collects the attention of travelers and tourists both. The Jaigarh Fort is intact and was built by Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amber fort and palaces.

The huge structure with unending walls is situated on the Aravalli Hills overlooking the Maota Lake at a distance of 15 km from the Jaipur city. The Jaigarh Fort treasure story is famous worldwide.
