Shimla an amalgamation of 100 of years old tradition and fresh thoughts, a place covered with mountains from all its sides and gets its name mentioned in the oldest epic Ramayana and in the history of modern India. the importance of this state is not limited to tourism but comes in all walks of life.

1. Indian Institute of Advanced Study

Located on one of the 7 hills of Shimla that is Observatory hill with its majestic architecture along with grey stone and Burmese teak that gives it a exquisite look mesmerising the on lookers. This building have it sheer share in history as the the Shimla Conference of 1945 and the Separation of Pakistan and East Pakistan in 1947 held in this very building.


2. Jakhu Temple

Situated on the top of Jhakhu hill  this temple holds it religious and mythological importance built by  Yaku a sage this tele is dedicated to Lord Hanuman the 108 feet high idol of lorh hanuman is the highlight of this temple.


3. Kufri

Located at 16 km from central Shimla this place holds a lot of laces of interests for every body, during winters a hills here serve a great sot for skiing, Himalayan Nature Park serves as home to several common and rare animal species like hangal, brown bear and Himalayan Monal, Mahasu peak the highest peak here is covered with lush green forests. Chini bungalow famous for its architecture and statues is another attraction here.


4. Christ Church

The second oldest Roman catholic shrine in north with Neo- Gothic Style of architecture. The pipe organ in it is the biggest of Indian Subcontinent alongwith Paintings and batiks portraying scenes from Jesus Christ’s life are other reasons of attraction for the tourists.



5. The Ridge

Surrounded by Mountain Peaks from its side ridge lies at the centre of the town it runs along the mall and gets connected at the scandal point on west,, the marvellous view of snow clad mountain ranges sell binds the one who loves the simple beauty of the nature.


6. Mall Road

Filled with many shops, café, restaurant and yet surprising at every turn of its, offering a glimpse of Shimla  its beauty and Shimla in a nutshell.


7. Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex

Located  at the mall road that is the Heart of Shimla, its Gothic style of architecture is a statement in itself  about Victorian artistry and still awestruck the visitors, the most popular attraction in here is the Victorian theatre where likes of K.L. Sehgal , Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Baten Powell, etc have performed.



Visiting Shimla but not visiting Lakkar Bazar is something that keeps your journey incomplete located at the narrow road adjoining the Ridge this place is famous for all kinds of wooden decorative.


9. Kalibari Mandir

Dedicated to Goddess Shyamala this temple is located near mall road holds great importance for the hindus and especially for residents of Shimla as the city derives its name from Goddess Shyamla only.

  2. I have never heard of this place but it looks amazing. The pictures are beautiful.The architecture is stunning. I would definitely consider visiting.
